OSL Databases for ALL OSL Library Patrons

There are many online databases and resources available through Rhode Island's Ocean State Libraries consortium. The database links listed in the righthand column of this page are available to all OSL patrons, both from the library and from your home computers.

Please use your OSL library card number (no spaces or dashes) to log in when prompted.

Attention Verizon FIOS users: Internet access for Verizon FIOS is presently routed through New York. When FIOS customers try to access geographically authenticated databases (Homework Help, World Book), they show up as being in New York and are denied access. FIOS users need to enter a library bar code to access geographically authenticated databases. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Databases for JMS Library Patrons ONLY

The database links listed below are available ONLY to Jesse Smith Library patrons, that is, patrons with library cards issued by Jesse Smith Library. If your library card number begins with the prefix "26000" you are a JMS Library patron.

JMS Library Patrons may access the databases both from within the library and from their home computers by entering their 14-digit JMS OSL library card number ("26000...." no spaces or dashes) when prompted.

An electronic database antique/collectibles pricing tool, containing data from a variety of sources, including online auctions (eBay), online antique dealers (GoAntiques & TIAS) and land-based auction houses. The database currently has over 23 million prices realized for art, antiques and collectibles in more than 100 categories and subcategories with over 10 million images.

Salem Press Guides

Salem Press databases can be accessed only from within the JMS Library using the library's computers.

Salem Health

The material presented on Salem Health is intended for broad informational and educational purposes only. It allows online access to Salem Press’ award-winning health reference works, including Magill’s 5-vloume Medical Guide, and Salem Health: Cancer, a four-volume set covering more than 800 topics of crucial interest to students, patients, caregivers, and others who have received a diagnosis or are associated with those who have cancer.

Salem History

The Salem History online database includes the complete contents of three of their printed reference sets, including Milestone Documents, a primary source series, The Decades, Salem's critically acclaimed American history series, and Great Lives from History, the definitive, worldwide biographical resource.
